The companies have taken the decision to supply potable water, as a result of super typhoon Haiyan or Yolanda, which hit the country on 8 November, 2013.

Sealed Air plans to supply about 120,000 flexible pouches, where each pouch can accommodate 2.5 litres of potable drinking water, while Pepsi will provide purified water.

In addition, the Dow Chemical supplied Dowlex Polyethylene resins to produce the pouches, while Quality Corrugated donated carton boxes and DHL Global and ACA International offered airfreight for the project.

The initial batch including 4312 pouches of potable water were supplied to the Sagip Kapamilya Foundation, the emergency humanitarian assistance program of ABS-CBN Foundation in Philippines.

PCPPI president Partha Chakrabarti said, "We know the plight of the communities that were hit hard by Super Tyhoon Yolanda and through our Pamaskong PaTubig, the PCPPI family and its partners is offering a simple tribute of potable water to affected communities."
